Residing in Cheltenham, this up and coming artist is a local favourite and one to watch. Here at Spilt Milk we’ve had the great pleasure of listening to his new EP, ‘Museum’, which will be released on 21st April.

If you love listening to beautifully crafted songs and stunning vocals considered with care then ‘Museum’ is definitely for you. The tracks on this EP run smoothly between each other, with gentle tones and varying lengths. Soulful songs interlaced with skillfull guitar are perfectly balanced to create a well-mastered track/EP that enchants and excites you!

Nobody’s Dancing: This track starts with a powerful guitar intro followed by captivating vocals that hosts a strong and energetic sound. The bridge uplifts the song with softer and lighter tones that produce a dream like trance contrasting nicely with the heavier but enticing guitar baseline.

Lighthouse: With a stunning intro that draws you in, this song continues to build through harmonious vocals and complimentary guitar sounds that highlight the soft and easy nature of the lyrics and create a melodic sound.

Telephobia: This track resumes the mellow sound with attention grabbing sweet acoustic guitars and a beautiful blend of male and female vocals. Strong narrative within the lyrics, that take you on a journey, engaging with the audience on a personal level.

Middletown: A stand out track, in our eyes, with a more upbeat energy throughout the song with stunning guitar this song is great at showcasing Dan’s talent and great vocals. We can assure you this song will not “slip your mind.” Overall this EP is definitely one to check out, you will not be disappointed! Be sure to catch Dan’s EP launch night on the 21st April at Smokey Joe’s Coffee Bar, we can’t wait!

SPOTLIGHT : CROWS

DSC_1126Crows are London based four piece that I discovered last September at Underground Festival. Their performance was incredible and really gripping, leaving me with a taste for them.

Their sound is dramatic and exciting hardcore with a tinge of punk that will get you moving and moshing. Their tracks are filled with ripping guitar riffs and the vocals have a depth to them that is so chilling, but in a good way. The tracks seem slow to begin, but build with so much power.

These guys are definitely ones to watch and I have no doubt that they are heading up and up. They recently released new EP, Unwelcome Light, which you need to check out right now and purchase and put it on repeat! This is also an extremely great live band, so be sure to catch a gig of theirs too!
