Manchester hailing melodic-pop-punk-four-piece MILESTONES will be releasing their debut album ‘Red Lights’, VIA FEARLESS RECORDS, in just a few days time (23/03/18). We recently had a chat with frontman, Matt, about the release to find out about it AND we’ve also had a little listen to it too! Here’s what we thought of the debut!

‘Red Lights’ is 11 tracks of clean pop-punk goodness. And clean in a good way, it’s tight, well produced and pretty on the ear for sure. You can feel the work that has gone into perfecting this album and it stands as a statement and an introduction to Milestones as strong contenders in this area of the music scene.

Overall it encompasses catchy lyrics that you very soon find yourself singing along to. Tracks like ‘Bittersweetheart’ showcase Matt’s vocals, which are light and melodic – creating a nice contrast with the rockier-tainted guitar riffs. Even though this is a debut album, it carries a nostalgic feel in where it draws its influences. I immediately compare it to the likes of All Time Low (who, by the way, I used to be a SUPER fan of). I really feel this in ‘Against The World’, which carries a blend of genres, similar to recent releases from ATL – with it being just enough pop and just enough rock. Because of these kind of influences ‘Red Lights’ can appeal to a wider audience and I can totally see this trickling into a more mainstream domain. Other tracks such as ‘Paranoid’ bring a little more grit in its dirtier riffs and high impact tempo.

Overall this album delivers a versatile array of tracks that perfectly introduce us to the new-and-improved Milestones. Check it out – released 23rd Feb!
